What is Stop Drinking Hypnotherapy?
Drinking alcohol can be a fun and enjoyable social experience for many people. Alcohol itself isn’t a bad thing as long as it can be done responsibly.
Many people go through a phase of drinking heavily, or at least experience being drunk on one or more occasions.
However, if drinking alcohol has become excessive or out of your control, it can lead to some dangerous and even life threatening situations if not addressed.
If weekends lead to binge drinking or black outs, you can find yourself waking up in strange places with no memory of how you got there.
This can be hugely unsettling and anxiety provoking, not remembering what you said or did the night before.
Stop drinking hypnotherapy can help you get your drinking back under control if you feel it has gotten out of hand.
You may not know yet if you want (or need) to stop drinking completely. Maybe you want to find a way to improve your relationship with alcohol, and be able to drink more responsibly.
Or, maybe you’ve decided that it’s time to stop drinking altogether.
Wherever you are on your journey with alcohol, I help people find more balance in their lives with stop drinking hypnotherapy.

For some people, drinking becomes a way to cope with low confidence or self-esteem issues, or even to numb out trauma. How Can Stop Drinking Hypnotherapy Help?
When people come to me for stop drinking hypnotherapy they’ve often reached a point where they know something needs to change. They’ve usually tried different ways to find some control over their drinking but keep falling into the same patterns.
Hypnotherapy can help identify the reason why you’re drinking to excess and how it is serving you. All addictive or compulsive behaviours are either a subconscious attempt to find a solution for something bigger. When we identify this, we can help your subconscious find a better, healthier solution.
Many people who find their drinking has become a coping mechanism, are afraid that they will lose part of their identity if they stop drinking or getting drunk. Using hypnotherapy techniques, I help people discover their true selves without the “need” for alcohol.
The truth is, the fun side of you was always in there. Alcohol may have helped that part of your personality come out, but it’s you. In fact, when people realise that you don’t need alcohol to have fun and be yourself, life becomes more fun in general and you can feel more comfortable with who you are in any situation.

If drinking has become a way to find relief, a stress release, a way to cope or find confidence, hypnotherapy you develop inner resources that are healthier and a more natural ways to achieve this.
Do I have to want to stop drinking completely?
No, you may not feel ready to stop drinking completely and you might want to find a way to drink more responsibly. I’ve helped many people develop a healthier relationship with alcohol using hypnotherapy.
Some people find that once they start the process they realise they want to stop. But for others they find drinking in a healthier way is what works for them. We’ll explore this in our hypnotherapy sessions and help you find the way that works best for you.
Will I need to stop drinking first for hypnotherapy to work?
No, I don’t prescribe anyone to stop or change their drinking habits throughout the hypnotherapy journey. The change you experience will come naturally rather than forced. We work towards a natural shift in your desire to drink, rather that relying on will power or brute force. However, you should not drink before a hypnotherapy session for safety reasons.
Does stop drinking hypnotherapy work if I don't want to stop drinking?
You need to be ready to change your drinking habits in order for any therapeutic process to work.
Hypnotherapy is not a magic pill which will make you do things you don’t want to do, and it is not something I do to you without your input.
If you’ve decided you need to stop or change your drinking, there must be a reason. Hypnotherapy works best when you are ready or want to change, rather than when someone else wants you to change. It may not be easy, but if you’re ready, hypnotherapy can help you get there.
